Our anti-cheating algorithm was installed a couple of months ago to identify and to mark players who cheated and/or solved sudokus with special software. Since the implementation many true cheaters were correctly recognized. But some players who did not cheat where marked as cheater too. This led of course into frustration and discussions. Therefore we decided to change the "anti-cheating" system into a "trusted user network". We will place the possibility to decide, whether somebody cheats or plays fair, at your own disposal. You will be able to decide by voting, if other users play fair or not. To be able to vote you have to satisfy some conditions:
You must get a score of 10.000 points.
You must have a picture in your profile.
You must have a text in your profile (You can write what you like, e.g. explain how you usually play)
Every user has a "voting balance". Every vote counts +1 point for "fair" and -1 point for "cheater". If your balance is -10 you will be marked as "cheater".
Furthermore every user can achieve the state "trusted user". To be a trusted user you have to satisfy following conditions:
You must have a total score of 20.000 points.
You must have a "voting balance" of +10 (or more) and the amount of negative voting points must be less then 10% of the positive votes.
Votes from "trusted users" count twice.
In this way we put the responsibility of how you deal with cheaters on you. You alltogether can find out and determine who is cheater and who not. It is also on your decision if and how you use this system. Our hope is that you come back again and again for the following reason: to have a lot of fun and to play fair!
Our new system starts on Sunday, 12 March 2006. |
